Drum Corps 2023!

It’s still hard to wrap my mind around it but after 11 years away from it… I’m jumping back into the drum corps world!

I have loved sending off my former students to experience drum corps for themselves over the years as performers and teachers but have secretly been a little jealous each summer. After my career change, I found a renewed desire to “get back in the game” in some way. As luck would have it, I had lunch with my long-time friend Adam Wiencken (the battery arranger for the Spirit of Atlanta), and I told him about what I was thinking and he was looking for someone like me to spend a little time on the road running the battery section. It’s not much - just one week but that’s all that I was hoping for. Just a taste. So I’ll spend one week as a pseudo-consultant/ battery caption head when everyone else is starting up their band camps sometime in July.

The last time I did this it was at The Cavaliers and we won drums… a lot has changed since then but clean is still clean and quality is still quality. Here we go SOA ‘23!
